long time coming it’s gonna be a long time, long time coming it’s gonna be a long time ‘till you’ll know it’s gonna be your heart and mind and body it’s gonna be love, it’s gonna be soul it’s gonna be love, it’s gonna be soul but let me share a few things that I’ve learned: take every opportunity to rise above the mess to bask in self-assurance and shrug off the things we miss ‘cause we are soldiers every day we stand and hold our ground defending what we know is true we’ll thrive on what’s been found ‘til you ‘til you ‘til you and I’m trying not to argue with that voice inside my head it’s telling me to call you so I think I better run instead ‘cause in the past I fall too fast, I lose my sense of time i’m gonna wait till I’m ready for you and then I’ll be your bride it’s gonna be a long time, long time coming it’s gonna be a long time ‘till you’ll know

back to the future i can’t stand to blame myself for the person i’ve become but I can make a choice today walk away release the gun and go back to the future without you i’ll go back to the future without you i see peace of mind i see glasses of wine i see everything that came before accepted and endured now i don’t know if it’s just me or maybe it’s just you but time is moving way too fast the future’s nearly through and i could wait a little while but really what would change? when days are flipping pages and the months like minutes fly the years gave me a heart attack a message from the sky to try to really listen and focus on the goal and love the laughter coming from the belly of our soul i can’t stand to blame myself for the person I’ve become but i can make a choice today walk away release the gun and go back to the future without you

last valentine there’s a light on in the distance it’s burning bright he needs to tell her before the dawning of the light he promised he’d be there through thick and through thin but now there’s a force that’s much greater than him he says lie down beside me let me whisper in your ear remember me now in this moment right here trace my face with your finger paint a picture with your mind dance naked in moonlight with an open heart in hand and wherever life takes you i will understand as he writes his daughters their last valentine he thinks of each one and how their eyes shine his baby’s like her mother can sketch life with her eyes and the older’s just like him and she’ll keep his guitar alive he says lie down beside me let me whisper in your ear remember me now in this moment right here trace my face with your finger paint a picture with your mind dance naked in moonlight with an open heart in hand and wherever life takes you i will understand

a great mistake i drew a line in the sand and said, cross it if you dare then lightning struck me i fell to one side a choice was made we can lie to ourselves forever or stand and face the truth either way round might lead to the ground for a little while the sun it will rise on the choices we’ve made don’t deny yourself a great mistake j’aime la façon que tu manges ton poisson j’aime la façon que tu danses j’aime quand tu me touches dans la noirceur de ma chambre tout doux, tout doux, tout doux the sun it will rise on the choices we’ve made don’t deny yourself a great mistake

Blue Jay Way 02:50
blue jay way don’t nag into a corner don’t show up late for a date don’t let the fear of the unknown impede on your great escape just raise to the moment and greet it whichever the variety and then there i will be waiting under the old maple tree but these days it grows colder and the fire still does burn and the walks they seem much longer but i’m standing on my own the blue jay stands uncomfortably unsure of where he should rest the branch that he chooses isn’t all that strong she can’t hold his weight for too long and yet he continues to tempt her and love her whenever he can but sooner or later she can’t hold and she breaks with a snap in the wind but these days it grows colder and the fire still does burn and the walks they seem much longer but i’m standing on my own

conquer then divide living in the shadow of a family of a friend you’re too afraid to move ahead it’s easier to pretend that dad is gonna come home that mom is gonna mend as winter covers all that breaths find shelter and release but hope is in the water in the stories that we read it comes up from the gutter leaves us weeping to be seen give me some acknowledgement do you hear the words i say? you grieve with me you breathe with me we’re getting through the day love it is a battle it can rob you of your pride you choose a path i’ll follow and we’ll conquer then divide conquer then divide
